One of the nice aspects of leaving in Rome is the fact that the seaside is very near and in only 20/30 minutes you can be right on the beach.
I love the sea and particularly in winter when there are few people, it is not hot and the light is golden.
Instead of spending the Sunday in town, very ofter we go with friends to Fregene for a “fishy” long and gourmet lunch.
Our new discovery is Restaurant Da Rosario, in the Albos Beach on lungomare di Fregene.
As soon as you enter the place you think you have landed on the Ocean cost of some Nordic country. Simple but elegant it gives the role of king to the sea view from the big windows. And as you are on the first floor you just have the sea in front. For dinner you can even get a wonderful sunset.
And then the food. Mainly fish, they offer a great variety of raw fish, prepared just to be perfect. To follow the pasta: you can get the most perfect plate of spaghetti with urcins you ever had before. And if you fancy a fish soup, you can get a big pan just for yourself with the right mix of fish and sauce you will nearly cry.
To make it perfect, the service, kind and attentive in the right way, simple and not too cerimonious. For a perfect Sunday on the beach!
