Are you looking for a beautiful place outside Rome where to spend a lovely Sunday lunch or where to have an al fresco dinner on a wonderful terrace? Da Gina is the place. I discovered it thanks to a colleague who sails as the Restaurant is inside a private touristic port called Porto Romano near Fiumicino, on the Roman coast. The place is beautiful and classy and in the port there are incredible yachts. It seems to be in a Greek island or in Sardinia.
The restaurant is specialised in fresh fish and has a long tradiction. It has a wondeful terrace overlooking the river Tevere where even in summer with high heat there is always some fresh light wind. A paradise and never crowded. The food: raw fish for antipasti is a must, but also octopus salad or fried mixed fish. The first courses are a triumph of pasta with different fish sauces and the huge grill near the terrace is the perfect choice for a grilled fish-catch of the day. Prices are right for the quality (around 50 Euro p/p). You can even try it between flights to/from Fiumicino airport!
