Even a business trip can be an excuse to try new restaurants and good food.
Last week I had a very demanding week in Vienna so by Saturday with my colleagues we decided we really deserved some confort food. And what we had was really the King of Confort food.
The real Schnitzel!
We went to Figlmuller which flagship restaurant on Wollzeile is often referred to as the “Home of the Schnitzel”. Since 1905 they have been serving highlights of Viennese way of life, as well as an exceptional schnitzel.
Small but classy: this goes not only for the size of the cozy old Figlmüller, but also to its menu: there are only 13 expertly prepared traditional Viennese dishes to choose from.
The servings, however, are sizeable. By the way: Just like in Johann Figlmüller‘s former wine tavern beer, fruit juice, coffee and pastries are not on the menu.
But I grant you that when you are done with the Schnizel you will not have room for anything else if not some snaps to wash it down. Make sure to book in advance because it is always fully booked.
